Where It Started
AR began with a simple frustration: great eyewear was either mass-produced and forgettable, or beautifully made and priced out of reach. Working out of a small studio near Paris, we set out to close that gap — frames with real character, made to be worn every day, without the markup.
Made With Intention
Every AR frame starts as a sketch before it becomes a shape you can hold. We spend as much time on the hinge and the weight of a temple as we do on the silhouette, because comfort is what makes a pair of glasses part of your face rather than an accessory on it. We work with small ateliers who care about the same details we do, and we test every shape on real faces before it ever reaches yours.
Why France
We're based just outside Paris, and it shows in the way we think about design — understated, a little bit stubborn about quality, and never chasing a trend just because it's loud. It's also why every order ships from our own warehouse here, so we can stand behind what leaves it.
What We Believe
Glasses should do two things at once: help you see clearly, and feel unmistakably like you. We don't believe you should have to choose between the two, or pay a premium for both. That belief is the reason AR exists, and it's the standard we hold every new frame to before it earns a place in the collection.
Still Writing This Story
